According to a report, the Dallas Cowboys are still in the beginning stages of a deal which spells bad news already since the more they wait, the more difficult it becomes to agree to a contract. After Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby received their deals, it doesn't put the Cowboys in the best position as he might be looking for a significant payday possibly higher than what they're receiving. Originally selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the former Penn State product is entering the final year of his contract and him in the infancy stages of contract talks is concerning.

Even though Parsons said he isn't looking for the biggest deal but something that is fair for him. It may have been good news for the Cowboys but the team shouldn't take advantage of that, especially when there are already other defensive stars receiving new deals. After extending Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys could face a roadblock and anticipate Parsons to skip mandatory workouts which may signal he could request a trade as feelings always change. While the Cowboys are dragging their feet in contract negotiations, here are three possible trade destinations for the star pass rusher.

REPORT: "Meaningful Talks" Have Not Begun for Trade Candidate Micah Parsons

3 Suitors Emerge

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens had one of the best offenses in the league last year but they had a faltering in their defensive unit. The team had a horrible run defense but no fault of their own, Jadeveon Clowney and Geno Stone weren't around last year after losing them both the offseason prior. Trenton Simpson made things worse for Kyle Van Noy who's slowing down and Roquan Smith. The only promising young starter they have is Odafe Oweh despite not getting much help from a depleting David Ojabo.

The Ravens struggle with balance on defense and even with a powerful offense, they can't depend on one side of the ball to win all of their games next season. The recent DeAndre Hopkins signing puts the offense in a good spot but they should add some explosion to their defense. Parsons is the perfect match for what this defense is looking for and even if they take the cap hit, it could be a worthy investment to maximize Lamar Jackson's MVP window and finally win a Super Bowl.

Los Angeles Chargers

After releasing Joey Bosa, the Los Angeles Chargers could find themselves building a new regime. Khalil Mack might be coming back but there's no guarantee he will be playing any longer beyond this year. The team trading for Micah Parsons would put Jim Harbaugh in a different boat for a long time. Since they have money to burn, they could fit the billing for the star pass rusher while Harbaugh loves a physical defense which is something that matches the chemistry already if Parsons lands in Los Angeles.

Carolina Panthers

Last season, head coach Dave Canales focused on improving its offense but they finally are making some moves for their defense. The team signing Tershawn Wharton is their first step but they need a capable opposite end of Jadeveon Clowney where Josey Jewell needs additional help. Parsons has a lot of years in him and he could change the landscape of the team.

According to the report, the Jaguars are beginning a new regime on their roster and if that's the case, the team trading Walker would make sense despite his production. Originally selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Georgia product was a controversial pick for the Jaguars since star Aidan Hutchinson was still up on the board. Walker did prove everyone wrong after recording double-digit sacks in his three-year career in the league and he isn't slowing down anytime soon.

Most teams who were looking into Maxx Crosby or Myles Garrett didn't get the chance to pursue them. Both of them are on new deals now, making Walker a potential trade candidate, especially for the rebuilding Jaguars. After releasing Evan Engram, Josh Reynolds and trading Christian Kirk, the Jaguars are not in the best position for at least a postseason contention so it makes sense to field some trade offers which one source believes they are doing before the NFL Draft. Jacksonville probably won't fit the bill for Walker's production next offseason when he's a free agent so it's best for them to consider trading him to these five teams who could generate interest.

Breaking: NFL Executives Suggest Travon Walker Trade Could Happen - 5 Possible Destinations

Potential Trade Candidates

Baltimore Ravens

Last season, the Baltimore Ravens had a dramatic change in their defense after losing Jadeveon Clowney and Geno Stone. The team wasn't able to make up for it as linebacker Trenton Simpson has been struggling to get anything going for the pass rush. It was on Odafe Oweh and Kyle Van Noy to keep the defense stabilized but it didn't happen that way. The Ravens need one last push for Super Bowl contention and while Walker is still young, he could be the final bonafide piece to help Travis Jones and Broderick Washington in the trenches.

Los Angeles Chargers

Nobody loves a physical defense more than head coach Jim Harbaugh. The Los Angeles Chargers are making moves on offense but they took a huge hit on their defense after losing Poona Ford. The team did retain Teair Tart but he might not excel the same way if the team doesn't find some type of upgrade. Walker has the size and fits the billing for this defense and could be a worthy upgrade since the Chargers have money to blow.

Washington Commanders

Meanwhile, the Commanders didn't have much success in their defense despite hiring former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to be their head coach. The team was expected to make some upgrades on the defensive line but only made a few changes despite releasing Jonathan Allen. Javon Kinlaw is nothing but average and the same can be said about Deatrich Wise. Since the Commanders were aggressive in trading for Laremy Tunsil, the team should trade for someone like Walker to bolster the pass rush.

Dallas Cowboys

For the Cowboys, the defense will look dramatically different too but on a positive note. The team bringing back Dante Fowler Jr. and signing Jack Sanborn should give them enough pass-rush help when Micah Parsons returns on a potential new deal. Since they're on one-year deals, they should trade for Walker and if he performs well, they could consider giving him a long-term extension.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are not far from Super Bowl contention other than their offensive weapons looking like a mess. However, they did lose a significant man in Tershawn Wharton who was explosive alongside star defensive tackle Chris Jones. Walker could be the next big-time trade to finally upgrade the defensive trench for Jones.

Cowboys Transition Plans for Demarcus Lawrence Take Shape After Tearful Farewell https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/19/cowboys-transition-plans-for-demarcus-lawrences-take-shape-after-tearful-farewell/ https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/19/cowboys-transition-plans-for-demarcus-lawrences-take-shape-after-tearful-farewell/#respond Wed, 19 Mar 2025 14:00:30 +0000 https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/?p=223378 Jersey numbers in the NFL are like prized baseball cards—cherished, debated, and sometimes. Sometimes they're passed on quicker than a halftime hot dog. The Dallas Cowboys, a franchise steeped in star-studded legacy, just handed No. 90 to a new owner faster than you can say “How ‘bout them Cowboys?” And just like that, an era ended.

Cue the sound of a record scratch. Demarcus Lawrence’s farewell message hit social media like a Troy Aikman spiral—raw, heartfelt, and loaded with subtext. The man who anchored Dallas’ defense for 11 seasons didn’t just leave. He left with a mic drop, a feud, and a fresh Seahawks jersey. But the Cowboys? They didn’t waste a breath.

A Number’s New Home: Solomon Thomas Steps Into No. 90

The ink on Lawrence’s Seattle contract hadn’t even dried before the Cowboys reassigned his iconic No. 90. Newcomer Solomon Thomas, a defensive lineman with Stanford roots, now claims the digits. For a team that’s seen legends like Charles Haley and DeMarcus Ware rock No. 94, retiring numbers isn’t their style. Lawrence’s 61.5 sacks and four Pro Bowls? Legendary, but not enough to freeze his number in time.

Thomas, who last wore No. 94 with the Jets, now inherits a digit synonymous with Lawrence’s relentless edge rushes. The move feels like swapping out a vintage Mustang for a sleek new truck—practical, but tinged with nostalgia. Thomas’s résumé?

Solid, if unspectacular: 204 career tackles, 17.5 sacks, and a hunger to prove himself. However, filling Lawrence’s shoes? That’s like stepping into Roger Staubach’s cleats. Good luck! But Thomas isn’t the only one sporting fresh digits.

Running back Javonte Williams grabs No. 33, once worn by controversial NFL figure Timmy Smith. Meanwhile, Dante Fowler snags No. 3, a number Brandin Cooks owned for two seasons. The message is clear: In Dallas, numbers live on, even when legends don’t.

So why the haste? Maybe it’s the Cowboys’ unspoken rule: Keep the star shining, no matter the cost. Or maybe it’s a subtle nod to Lawrence’s parting shots. Either way, the jersey carousel spins on. But let’s rewind.

From Fiery Feud to Fond Farewell: Lawrence’s Emotional Exit

Days before his heartfelt goodbye, Lawrence lit a match. “I know for sure I’m not gonna win a Super Bowl there,” he said about Dallas. Micah Parsons, fired back on social media: “This what rejection and envy look like! This some clown s---.” Lawrence clapped back, but the damage was done. A decade of loyalty overshadowed by a 280-character spat. Then came Saturday.

Demarcus Lawrence’s farewell message dripped with Texas-sized emotion. “I never truly believed that the day would come when I would go and sign with another team,” he wrote. He thanked fans, Jerry Jones, and the “incredible organization,” calling Dallas home while embracing Seattle’s “12s.”

"This is not the end of my life as a Dallas Cowboy or North Texas resident, but it is a new beginning and chapter for me and my family. I hope you hold us in your prayers and wish us well on our next journey, and we will see you soon. 90 out!" He further added to cap off the emotional outburst. It was a classy pivot, a nod to the fans who’d cheered his 11-year grind. However, the sting lingered.

Lawrence’s exit mirrors Emmitt Smith’s 2003 departure—a legend chasing a ring elsewhere. For Cowboys fans, it’s a familiar ache. The ’90s dynasty feels like yesterday, but the Lombardi Trophy drought? That’s a lifetime. Lawrence’s words cut deep because they’re true.

Now, Seattle gains a warrior with unfinished business. Dallas? They’re betting on youth like Micah Parsons and Osa Odighizuwa. The Cowboys’ defensive line isn’t the same without Lawrence’s fire, but as any Texan knows—you don’t rebuild fences; you reinforce ’em.

The Parting Call

Demarcus Lawrence’s farewell message was a love letter and a reality check. His jersey may belong to Solomon Thomas now, but his legacy? That’s etched in Cowboys lore. For Dallas, it’s another chapter in a saga where stars rise, numbers recycle, and Super Bowl dreams flicker like a Friday night stadium light.

Lawrence heads west, chasing glory in Seahawks blue. The Cowboys? They’ll keep swinging, fueled by fresh faces and old-school grit. After all, in the NFL, endings are just beginnings with a different number. How ‘bout them Cowboys?

Cash-Strapped Saints May Trade Hall of Famer Despite Contract Restructure https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/18/cash-strapped-saints-may-trade-hall-of-famer-cameron-jordan-despite-contract-restructure/ https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/18/cash-strapped-saints-may-trade-hall-of-famer-cameron-jordan-despite-contract-restructure/#respond Wed, 19 Mar 2025 00:31:47 +0000 https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/?p=223449 The New Orleans Saints will likely trade the future Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan despite his contract restructure this offseason. According to reports, the Saints reworked Jordan's deal after having an uncertain future after the 2024 campaign. Jordan wasn't the only player on the roster who got that new deal but Tyrann Mathieu is coming back on a different contract too. However, the veteran may look like he's staying but since he's aging the Saints may wind up trading him either way to see if they can get some draft picks in return.

Even though General Manager Mickey Loomis refuses to rebuild since the Drew Brees-Era, the Saints might have no other choice but to ship him to another team. Originally selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, the defensive end isn't getting any younger and the Super Bowl window is closing on him. The Saints are not in a good place to win a Lombardi Trophy anytime soon so the least the team could do is look into trading him. Jordan may be a Saint "for life" but if there's an opportunity elsewhere to continue playing for a ring, he will probably take it.

Saints May Trade Hall of Famer Cameron Jordan Despite Contract Restructure

4 Suitors Emerge

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens haven't made any moves to improve their defensive firepower. After losing cornerback Brandon Stephens, the team could look to add someone like Jordan to bring Justin (Nnamdi Madubuike) back to life. Broderick Washington and Travis Jones haven't done much to open up the holes for Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy. Jordan might not have the same speed but he has the experience to be a solid rotational threat.

Los Angeles Chargers

For the Chargers, the team lost Poona Ford after having a phenomenal 2024 season but made up for it by re-signing Teair Tart. No one should expect him to do much now that Ford isn't around to open up the gaps. Perhaps, since Jim Harbaugh loves to win football games in the trenches, Jordan could fulfill that promise. He isn't on the elite level anymore but after losing Morgan Fox too, he could be solid depth to get after the quarterback.

Dallas Cowboys

This offseason, the Dallas Cowboys knew they were going to lose a few defensive talents as they've already lost Demarcus Lawrence and Jourdan Lewis. The team made up for it by signing Dante Fowler Jr., Jack Sanborn and trading for Kenneth Murray. They have yet to find a capable replacement and while they have faith in Sam Williams' return, they could add Cameron Jordan for depth to mentor this group. Jordan won't be perfect but the Cowboys don't need him to for them to get something out of the defensive pass rusher.

Carolina Panthers

Last offseason, the Carolina Panthers focused on improving its offense for quarterback Bryce Young. This year is different, the team is finally signing a capable defensive line, especially for Derrick Brown's return. Tershawn Wharton is an excellent addition after missing out on Milton Williams. Jordan working opposite of Brown could give the Panthers a legitimate chance for at least a wild-card round.

According to reports, the team is fixing up Milano's contract after missing some time the past two seasons as he enters what could be his last season with the Bills. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former Boston College product is heading for free agency but the team might want to consider trading him if they don't see any future in him anymore. Since Milano hasn't been able to stay healthy, it doesn't make sense for the Bills to keep him around and they should consider the choice of sending him to a team for a fresh start.

This 2025 season will determine his future with the Buffalo Bills and if he doesn't perform up to standards, the team will likely let him test free agency. However, it shouldn't be surprising if they put him on the trade block before the beginning of the season to see if they could get something in return for his services. When healthy, the veteran linebacker has proven he could be a vital edge rusher while recording at least 78 total tackles in a season four times and 10 interceptions in his entire career. The linebacker is in his last year so another team could take a chance on him for one season to determine if he's worth the long-term risk and these five suitors could do that.

BREAKING: Bills All-Pro Star Matt Milano Takes Paycut, May Signal Trade? - 5 Possible Fits

Potential Destinations

Los Angeles Chargers

After releasing Joey Bosa, the Los Angeles Chargers need a capable veteran linebacker to pair with Khalil Mack. While they will probably draft a linebacker in this year's draft, there's no guarantee whoever they pick will be ready for full-time duties. Matt Milano could revive this pass-rushing unit which was at their peak last season. As long as he stays healthy, he could fulfill the wishes of Jim Harbaugh's philosophy of winning football games with a physical defense.

Washington Commanders

This trade would be a dream come true for the head coach Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders. Last offseason, they brought in Bobby Wagner on a one-year and made promising strides where he's returning again. Even though Dante Fowler Jr. is leaving, they have a bolstering weapon in Frankie Luvu. Milano and Luvu could pair up in the middle to stop the passes in the aerial and it could work out since both linebackers are ball-hawkers.

Baltimore Ravens

The same ball-hawking mindset could apply to the Baltimore Ravens too. Kyle Van Noy is entering the final year of his contract and Milano could be a worthwhile replacement. Milano won't be on the same level as him but it keeps the Ravens competitive if only he becomes a free agent next offseason since the Bills probably won't trade to their AFC rival.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints probably have one most promising linebacker units in the league. Pete Werner and Willie Gay along with Demario Davis are three formidable starters. However, Davis aging so they might need someone like Milano for a rotational basis in the defense.

Dallas Cowboys

Meanwhile, the Cowboys don't need a linebacker but they could have someone in the middle if Eric Kendricks doesn't return. Dallas has yet to extend Micah Parsons but if they do that, they're in good hands with Dante Fowler Jr. and Jack Sanborn. Milano won't start but he could be an effective option when the defense plays zone under Matt Eberflus.

The Buffalo Bills star linebacker Matt Milano will take a paycut to no surprise after taking up most of the team’s cap space. According to reports, the team is fixing up Milano’s contract after missing some time the past two seasons as he enters what could be his last season with the Bills. Originally selected in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, the former Boston College product is heading for free agency but the team might want to consider trading him if they don’t see any future in him anymore. Since Milano hasn’t been able to stay healthy, it doesn’t make sense for the Bills to keep him around and they should consider the choice of sending him to a team for a fresh start.

According to ESPN's Rich Cimini, the former Baltimore Raven standout is not looking to retire anytime soon as he believes he has an opportunity elsewhere. Originally selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the former Alabama product is a free agent for a second time in his career after spending several years with the Jets and now becomes one of the best available on the market. However, the linebacker had a questionable start in his tenure with New York but he managed to produce high-level consistent seasons while capturing his fifth Pro Bowler nod.

It's no surprise the Jets are moving on from Mosley as he has two years left on his current deal. After resigning Jermaine Sherwood to a new deal, the Jets are moving on with younger talent and the emergence of quarterback Justin Fields means the team is heading in a different direction. Meanwhile, there hasn't been much of an active market for Mosley which is a bit surprising but the free agency has quiet as well. There are still high-level veteran players on the market but these five teams could bank a chance on the All-Pro.

ESPN: Five-Time All-Pro Free Agent CJ Mosley Intends to Play in 2025 - 5 Potential Suitors

Possible Next Teams

Baltimore Ravens

Last offseason, the Baltimore Ravens didn't have any luck signing new talent to their defense after losing Jadeveon Clowney and Geno Stone. The limited cap space came at the worst time for Baltimore's defense as Trenton Simpson had large shoes to fill. He didn't have an astonishing campaign so it's time for the Ravens to find a capable veteran to provide some relief at least one side of the edge rush opposite of Roquan Smith and Kyle Van Noy. Mosley might be slowing down but he knows John Harbaugh and what they're looking for.

Los Angeles Chargers

If anyone can bring out the best in Mosley, it's head coach Jim Harbaugh. The team brought back Khalil Mack on a one-year deal but after cutting Joey Bosa, they need a capable upgrade to provide some relief. Mosley isn't the long-term answer for the Chargers but since Harbaugh is old-fashioned, the team could use the veteran for as long as they can.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders constructed themselves a fast pass-rushing defense with the additions of Dante Fowler Jr. and Bobby Wagner. However, since Wagner is the only captain who's returning to this team, the Commanders will need to search for a replacement since they lost Fowler to the Cowboys. Mosley won't put over five sacks but this roster is capable of bringing out the best in him after bringing something out of Wagner last year that no one has seen before.

Dallas Cowboys

Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, free-agent Eric Kendricks is still available on the market so it's surprising the team isn't looking into him. However, after signing Jack Sanborn and Fowler, the Cowboys are in good hands in the pass rush. There's no such thing as too many linebackers even though Micah Parsons is waiting for a new deal the team should bring on Mosley for one year to serve as a rotational edge rusher.

New Orleans Saints

The offense doesn't look promising for the New Orleans Saints this upcoming 2025 season. This means the team will probably continue to maximize their chances to win football games. Demario Davis is returning for what could be his last season in the league and Chase Young is returning. Mosley is on the verge of retirement himself but he could come at a bargain for the Saints who are taking a hit in their cap space

However, after the recent Cooper Rush signing with the Baltimore Ravens, there could be some type of interest soon from teams this offseason. While Lance is struggling to find a new opportunity, it might not be the end of his NFL career as several rosters are looking for a new quarterback but Lance may have to settle for a backup job. Originally selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft, the former North Dakota State product should be picking up steam in the coming days as long as Aaron Rogers and Russell Wilson sign and pick their teams sooner rather than later.

Lance is no "surefire" starter but he still provides a lot of upside for any team willing to give him a legitimate shot. In 2023, the Dallas Cowboys made the move to trade for him but never really gave him a real opportunity as he stuck around as the third-string quarterback behind Rush for the past two seasons. The tools that Lance provides won't be disappearing anytime soon as the signal-caller isn't turning mid-age until May. Lance has a high ceiling with any team in the league as long as he can get a shot as a backup.

"Struggling" Free Agent Trey Lance Should Have Suitors Soon - 5 Possible Next Teams

Potential Destinations

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens may have got Cooper Rush this free agency but it doesn't mean the team shouldn't get another quarterback. Rush and Trey Lance kept the Cowboys intact for the majority of the 2024 campaign and they could be a key asset behind Lamar Jackson. This could be Lance's opportunity to beat out Rush for the potential backup job as Baltimore has the same style that fits Lance.

Washington Commanders

To no surprise, the Washington Commanders are bringing back Marcus Mariota on another one-year deal. He was a solid support system for Jayden Daniels' rookie year but this could be Mariota's last season with Washington as he will likely earn a potential starting opportunity elsewhere in 2026. Trey Lance reuniting with Dan Quinn makes sense and he could be a key contributor for the offense.

Carolina Panthers

For the Panthers, the team finally has their faith in quarterback Bryce Young despite benching him earlier last year in favor of Andy Dalton. However, Young came back into the lineup and even though he's the starter, there's no guarantee that head coach Dave Canales won't bench him again. Dalton is returning again as the backup but they might benefit from Lance starting to get them back in the wild card if Young underperforms again.

New Orleans Saints

This might be the best likely scenario for Trey Lance. The New Orleans Saints fans were not happy to hear that quarterback Derek Carr is back. Spencer Rattler is their only dependable option but he's still developing. Perhaps, the Saints should take the route of giving Lance a shot if they bench Carr.

Los Angeles Chargers

Even though the Chargers are re-signing Taylor Heinicke, it's never a bad idea to get another quarterback. Jim Harbaugh believes in Justin Herbert and says he's one of the greatest to do it. However, they shouldn't stray away from getting Lance in the mix.

Rush, a former undrafted free agent, spent most of his career with the Dallas Cowboys but spent a short stint with the New York Giants in 2020.

Cooper Rush, Baltimore Ravens, Agree to Contract

Cooper Rush enters free agency on the heels of what could very well be the best season of his professional career. Starting eight games in place of an injured Dak Prescott, the quarterback went 4-4 while completing 60.7% of his passes for 1,844 yards, 12 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Despite his solid play off the bench, he couldn't get the team to the playoffs. Following the season, head coach Mike McCarthy left the team and Dallas hired longtime coordinator Brian Schottenheimer as their next head coach.

Rush originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft. Signing with the Dallas Cowboys, the Central Michigan product hardly saw the field during his first three years in the league. Exclusively playing in garbage time, Rush completed just one of his three professional attempts for two yards before the 2021 season. Following Andy Dalton's departure in 2020, Rush finally became the primary backup in 2021. Appearing in five games while making one start, the longtime veteran finished his first stretch of extended play with 422 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.

Dak Prescott missed a portion of the 2022 season, allowing Rush more extended playing time. Making five starts while going 4-1, the former undrafted free agent completed 58.0% of his passes for 1,051 yards, five touchdowns, and three interceptions. He returned to the bench in 2023 and only saw the field late in games. In total, he completed 18 of his 24 attempts for 144 yards, no touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Since signing his rookie contract, Cooper Rush has appeared in 38 games while making 14 starts. While on the field, the quarterback has gone 9-5 while completing 60.7% of his passes for 3,463 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

REPORT: Dolphins Wants To Bring Back Hall of Famer Free Agent – 5 Teams Likely to Intervene https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/16/report-dolphins-wants-to-bring-back-hall-of-famer-free-agent-calais-campbell-5-teams-likely-to-intervene/ https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2025/03/16/report-dolphins-wants-to-bring-back-hall-of-famer-free-agent-calais-campbell-5-teams-likely-to-intervene/#respond Sun, 16 Mar 2025 16:30:30 +0000 https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/?p=223002 The Miami Dolphins are in dire need of a defensive lineman and they want free agent Calais Campbell to return to the team this offseason. According to a report, the Dolphins want Campbell while the team hasn't made any significant changes to their defensive line. This means they "really want" the future Hall of Famer back for what could be his last season in the league. However, the Dolphins were open to letting Campbell join another team last year if Miami didn't make the playoffs but it didn't happen that way.

Originally selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, the former Miami product is one of the league's oldest defensive linemen. Through 17 years of play, he put up 110.5 sacks, 917 tackles, six Pro Bowls and one first-team All-Pro. Campbell has been a fan favorite on every team he has ever gone to but the veteran will have options and at this stage of his career, it might be safe to sign with a team that's a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Last season, he's already been proving to other teams he still has at least one more season in him so it shouldn't be surprising if he decides to sign elsewhere since he's not getting any younger. Campbell might not be in his prime anymore but the veteran could have one last chance with these five teams.

REPORT: Dolphins Wants To Bring Back Hall of Famer Free Agent Calais Campbell - 5 Teams Likely to Intervene

Potential Destinations

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are not too far from becoming Super Bowl champions one day as they missed the AFC Championship Game since facing off the Chiefs in 2024. However, the team had to sustain a different look on defense after losing veteran Jadeveon Clowney in the trenches. Nnamdi Madubuike is still playing at a high level and if the Ravens want to continue seeing that from him, they need more experience on that defensive line. Campbell might have slowed down but he's a significant upgrade over Travis Jones and Broderick Washington.

Los Angeles Chargers

Last year, the Chargers made promising strides in making it to the wild card in head coach Jim Harbaugh's first year back in the NFL. It's time for the team to turn the page and heat up its defensive trenches and they haven't made many changes. Teair Tart is coming back on another one-year deal but losing Poona Ford could come as a loss for the Chargers. The team will probably need a veteran like Campbell to see the best out of Tart again and keep the entire unit intact

Dallas Cowboys

Surprisingly, the Cowboys don't look too shabby with the bargain moves they made this offseason. Jack Sanborn, Dante Fowler Jr. and Osa Odighizuwa returning will be crucial for the success of this pass rush. However, they could use the presence of Campbell as a rotational man as long as the Cowboys give Micah Parsons a contract extension soon.

Kansas City Chiefs

For the Chiefs, George Karlaftis has yet to be special in this unit while he does have his moments, he needs additional help up front. Defensive Tackle Chris Jones is one of the league's best defensive linemen but if they want to see more firepower, they need more depth. Campbell could sign a one-year with Kansas City to finally get his ring in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Washington Commanders

If anyone in this league is in the best position. it's the Washington Commanders. Despite losing Fowler, the team got a lot of talent on the defensive upfront after signing Javon Kinlaw and a few depth guys. However, they could use Campbell as a crown jewel piece to guide them to their first Super Bowl in more than a decade.

Campbell might have slowed down but he’s a significant upgrade over Travis Jones and Broderick Washington.

Los Angeles Chargers

Last year, the Chargers made promising strides in making it to the wild card in head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first year back in the NFL. It’s time for the team to turn the page and heat up its defensive trenches and they haven’t made many changes. Teair Tart is coming back on another one-year deal but losing Poona Ford could come as a loss for the Chargers. The team will probably need a veteran like Campbell to see the best out of Tart again and keep the entire unit intact

Dallas Cowboys

Surprisingly, the Cowboys don’t look too shabby with the bargain moves they made this offseason.

Defensive Tackle Chris Jones is one of the league’s best defensive linemen but if they want to see more firepower, they need more depth. Campbell could sign a one-year with Kansas City to finally get his ring in the Patrick Mahomes era.

Washington Commanders

If anyone in this league is in the best position. it’s the Washington Commanders. Despite losing Fowler, the team got a lot of talent on the defensive upfront after signing Javon Kinlaw and a few depth guys. However, they could use Campbell as a crown jewel piece to guide them to their first Super Bowl in more than a decade.
