Jayden Daniels was taken by the Washington Commanders with the 2nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after winning the Heisman Trophy in his final year at LSU. Daniels was quickly named the Week 1 starter in Washington and led the Commanders to a playoff berth in his first season. Daniels had an excellent season, but can this continue next year and beyond? Here is the dynasty outlook for Jayden Daniels.
Dynasty Outlook for Jayden Daniels
Recent Production
Entering the season, Daniels was drafted outside the top-ten quarterbacks in fantasy drafts. However, he exceeded all expectations and finished as the fifth-best quarterback in fantasy football in terms of total fantasy points scored. Only Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Baker Mayfield scored more points than him. If only looking at Weeks 1-17, he finished fourth, ahead of Mayfield. Regardless, it was an excellent rookie season for Daniels, finishing as a top-eight weekly quarterback eight times this season.
Daniels is a terrific rushing quarterback, finishing second among quarterbacks in carries, rushing yards, and goal-line carries. There were six games this year where he had at least ten carries.

Daniels Dynasty Price
According to KeepTradeCut, Daniels is the fourth most valuable player in dynasty and the third most valuable quarterback (in superflex leagues). Only Jackson and Allen are ahead of him among quarterbacks. Based on their trade calculator, two early first-round picks are not enough to trade for Daniels. At the start of the season, Daniels ranked around the QB10-12 in dynasty leagues, and he quickly skyrocketed to a top-three quarterback in just one season. In comparison, the number one overall draft pick, Caleb Williams, started the season as the QB6 and is now the QB12.
Daniels Dynasty Outlook
Daniels had this great of a season with a below-average wide receiver group. After Terry McLaurin, the Commanders did not have a consistent second good wide receiver. Expect them to try to get Daniels another weapon in the passing game. Daniels should only get better as he becomes more accustomed to the league. On the other hand, the 2nd overall pick, C.J. Stroud, struggled in his sophomore season in the league. However, Stroud is not a dual-threat quarterback, which gives Daniels the advantage of not having a sophomore slump. Expect Daniels to be the third quarterback taken in redraft leagues in 2025.
What to Do With Jayden Daniels in Dynasty Leagues:
Daniels is a player who dynasty managers should be trying to build their teams around. Daniels is 24 years old and is not going anywhere anytime soon. There should be no reason to try away Daniels unless you have an excess of quarterbacks on your roster. If wanting to trade for Daniels, get ready to pay up with multiple first-round picks plus more. However, Daniels is worth it and is one of the brightest young stars in the game.
