In reply to G.J. Burke. Some interesting points. Sokolov is in the position of power simply given his RFA status, and the fact he won't be waiver exempt. There is a lot of competition for his spot, will be ready? 21 goals and 59 points in Belleville might be proof. However, is his skating where it needs to be? The other thing would be interesting packaging Branny and Joseph in a trade. It could potentially bring very nice return. Maybe try to find someone with one year left on their contract, and looking for a raise next year. If the cap is going up, the Sens may have room for Tarasenko, Sanderson, Kubalik etc.

Must sign Pinto, elevate Ridley and sign Sokolov and elevate. Trick is they need to shed some cap to fill out roster and deal with short term injuries. Joseph traded but Sens will need to add a sweetner young prospect and a pick. Maybe Brannstrom if Kleven can play. Tough for PD but its his job.

In reply to Anonymous. Even with Saros, I don't think the Predators would have beaten Colorado. It might have been 5 games instead of a sweep but Colorado was just a much better overall team.

I don’t think he ever came close to reaching his predicted potential, and I don’t think he ever threw a good bodycheck. After his back surgery, he worsened…it’s past time for him to go.

Seeing Milan Lucic’s goals mentioned in that OT victory piece for the Bruins makes me realize again just. how STUPID it was for the Bruins to let him go, I suspect for players no longer playing. In any case, sooooooo…. STUPID. That guy had/has it all.

Curious to see how he’s used next season: if he gets to go on the attack more frequently, he could hit 40 points again. The question is if he’s more valuable focussing on offence or defence…
