ATP Miami Day 1 Predictions Including Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Aleksandar Kovacevic National Bank Open-Montreal

The ATP singles main draw is joining the action on Wednesday at the 2025 Miami Open. One of the blockbusters of the round is Aleksandar Kovacevic taking on Miomir Kecmanovic, with the winner set to play Casper Ruud. Kovacevic has already won two Challengers and made an ATP Tour final this season, while Kecmanovic was in the Miami quarterfinals three years ago. Who do you think will come out on top?

ATP Miami Day 1 Predictions

Chun-Hsin Tseng vs Mattia Bellucci

Head-to-head: First meeting

Mattia Bellucci has endured some tough losses recently, including being unable to find the court against Yosuke Watanuki in Indian Wells or the four consecutive match points blown against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in Acapulco. It all adds up to a small losing streak, but now he’s facing an opponent who’s always struggled to establish himself on the main tour. Bellucci should have the cards in his hands and will probably post a much-needed win here.
Prediction: Bellucci in 3

Francisco Comesana vs Federico Cina

Head-to-head: First meeting

Federico Cina is one of the most talented 2007-born players in the world and is coming off his first Challenger final appearance in Hersonissos. The Italian might not be quite ready for this ATP Tour debut, but this should lay some good groundwork for the future. And for what it’s worth, Francisco Comesana on hard courts is a very reasonable draw. Still, the favorite is clear and he can actually be pretty overwhelming off-clay as well when he’s feeling confident.
Prediction: Comesana in 2

Rinky Hijikata vs Hamad Medjedovic

Head-to-head: First meeting

Hamad Medjedovic got injured trying to chase down a ball against Stefanos Tsitsipas in Doha, somehow finishing the match but missing an entire month of play since. But the Serbian’s form was so good this season that he still might be the favorite over Rinky Hijikata. If he manages to recover and shows up in good physical shape, it’s tough to see what the 24-year-old will do to stop him. The 2023 Next Gen Finals champion is back on the trajectory that was envisioned for him when he won Jeddah that year.
Prediction: Medjedovic in 2

Aleksandar Kovacevic vs Miomir Kecmanovic

Head-to-head: Kovacevic 1-0

This is one of the best matches of the round and one of these will be a dangerous second-round opponent for Casper Ruud. Aleksandar Kovacevic just won the stacked Challenger in Cap Cana with Miomir Kecmanovic getting eliminated in the quarterfinals of the same event. No reason why the American can’t be dangerous here, especially if he can rely on all that confidence gained last week. Kecmanovic is typically so sharp off the ground, but that didn’t stop Kovacevic from beating him in Seoul in 2022.
Prediction: Kovacevic in 3
