Campos Racing’s drivers are ready to display their full potential in Australia for the first round of the 2025 Formula 2 season.
What to Expect for Campos Racing’s Drivers in the First Round of the 2025 F2 Season
Following a successful 2024 season, Campos Racing wants to capitalize on its success as it enters the 2025 season in Australia.
With a full Red Bull junior drivers line-up, the expectations are significant. Especially since both are under the close scrutiny of Helmut Marko.
As the new season begins at a circuit where Campos Racing claimed victory last year, the team and drivers are determined to perform at their best.
Pepe Martì’s Payback
Josep “Pepe” Marti is in his second year in Formula 2.
His campaign in the series began strongly last year with a double podium finish in Bahrain. This placed him directly in contention for the championship.
However, the first challenges emerged in Melbourne. He failed to score any points at Albert Park, experiencing an accident in the Sprint Race, and finished the race on Sunday in 13th place.
In 2024, he faced adversity with the highest number of DNFs among all drivers, with nine races incomplete.
After a tough first season, Marti is determined to turn things around for this year and be in the Drivers’ Championship fight since Round 1. The most important factor for him is maintaining the consistency needed to perform at his best level.

Arvid Lindblad To Face A New Challenge
Alongside him, there will be Arvid Lindblad, fellow Red Bull Junior member. The Englishman stepped up to Formula 2 after an excellent first season in Formula 3. He started the year at just 16 years old.
Nevertheless, his age did not do justice to the ability he had shown on track already at Sakhir.
He won the first race of the season, to achieve the same result three other times. The most significant achievement in his career thus far is undoubtedly the double victory at his home race in Silverstone. There he became the first driver to win both F3 races in one weekend.
However, he struggled to accumulate points afterward, ultimately finishing the championship in fourth place.
In Australia Lindblad will discover a new track he only tried on the simulator. However, the Briton has shown he could get on seep quickly so adapting to the new car and layout should not be a problem for him.
Both drivers showed impressive speed during pre-season testing, positioning them as strong contenders for the win in Melbourne and the Drivers’ Championship.

Different Compounds and Bad Weather: Campos Racing’s Possible Strategy in Australia
Reflecting on last year, Isack Hadjar secured Campos Racing’s first win of the season. The strategy for this victory involved starting on soft compounds and, after the pit stop, switching to medium tires. Depending on the qualifying results of their two drivers, Campos Racing will need to choose the best tire option to achieve a strong result.
However, an uncertain factor is the weather. The current forecast indicates a high chance of rain on Sunday, which could lead to a wet Feature Race. In this condition, effective communication between the driver and their team is essential.
In addition, the ability of the drivers to perform under various conditions will play a big role in how the weekend will go for Campos Racing and its drivers.
