It appears that WWE may have picked up an extra passenger on the “Road to WrestleMania” as during the March 14 episode of WWE SmackDown (you can read a full recap of the show here), a vignette was aired that seemingly teased the imminent debut of Rey Fenix. Fenix’s WWE debut has been expected for a while now, with the arrival of Penta on Monday Night Raw only adding fuel to that fire.
The vignette featured a masked wrestler, perched on the top rope. This clear nod to Rey Fenix seemed to suggest that the luchador will make his home on Friday nights, which would keep him separate from the aforementioned Penta. It was reported on WrestleVotes Radio that Rey Fenix was expected to join WWE and team with his brother on Monday Night Raw, so perhaps this vignette was aired intentionally on SmackDown, in order to keep fans guessing. Or, perhaps Fenix will get a chance to start as a singles star on Fridays while Penta continues his run on Mondays for the time being.
Regardless of whether Rey Fenix joins the Raw or SmackDown roster, it’ll be great to see him back on TV after a long hiatus. And naturally, great to see the Lucha Brothers tag again in the near future.
