Arsenal finished off their 2024 with a relatively cagey 1-0 win over Ipswich Town to move up to second place in the 2024-25 Premier League title. They might look to strengthen their squad in the upcoming winter transfer window and there is now an update on how much they might have to pay for Alexander Isak.
Arsenal Told Asking Price for Potential Alexander Isak Transfer
How Much Are Newcastle Asking For?
The Gunners have been rumoured to be admirers of the Swedish forward and to have been interested in his potential signing for quite some-time now. There have been calls for Arsenal to sign a prolific centre-forward who can give them that added boost in the Premier League title race, with a feeling that someone like Isak could do that.

The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has now reported that Newcastle United have slapped a £150 million asking price to ward off potential suitors sniffing around the Swedish forward. It’s added that they warded off interest for him in the 2024 summer window and remain insistent that the demands will not be lowered for the forward who is contracted to the club until the end of June, 2028. The journalist also claims that Arsenal will find it tough to match this price because of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules pressurising clubs to be careful with their spending.
Arsenal Face Tough Fight for Alexander Isak
The Gunners are going to have to do something rather spectacular to sign Isak in the 2025 winter window and strengthen their push for the Premier League title. The Telegraph’s report also claims that PSG are closely tracing Isak’s situation at Newcastle United and that Liverpool might also look for him to be Mohamed Salah’s replacement next season if the Egyptian winger leaves them.

It’s also added that the Magpies are relaxed over his situation and insist that they have no interest in selling their prized forward anytime soon. Isak, who was hailed for his “excellent finishing” by Alan Shearer earlier this year, is on red-hot form in the Premier League with 11 goals and four assists in 16 appearances so far, which includes seven goals in his last five league games. Arsenal’s frontline would definitely be significantly strengthened with someone like Isak’s arrival, but signing him seems like a major uphill task for them right now.
